There’s a real sense of change in the air as spring begins to unfold here in Pembrokeshire. The days are stretching out, the countryside is waking up and there’s a gentle buzz of new life everywhere you look.
Out along the coast, one of the season’s highlights is just around the corner as puffins begin to return to Skomer Island from mid-April. It’s always a special moment and well worth a visit if you’re staying with us.
Closer to home, the fields around East Jordeston are full of bouncing lambs and fresh green growth, while hedgerows and woodlands are starting to fill with colour. Sea thrift will soon brighten the cliffs and bluebells are beginning to appear in sheltered spots.
Out on the water, boats are being launched again and coastal life starts to pick up pace, with boat trips resuming and harbours coming back to life after the quieter winter months.
Here at East Jordeston, the gardens are really coming into their own. Daffodils are now in full bloom, swallows are beginning to return from their long journey from Africa and birdsong fills the air from morning through to dusk. It’s a lovely time to slow down, step outside and enjoy the surroundings.
With Easter on the horizon, there are also plenty of seasonal activities nearby. Colby Woodland Garden and Carew Castle both host popular Easter events, perfect for families looking to make the most of their stay.
We also have some special offers available over the Easter period, so if you’re thinking about a spring break, now is a great time to book.
