If you’re visiting with children, a visit to Folly Farm is an absolute must! From humble beginnings as a dairy farm, Folly Farm is now an award winning family attraction popular with locals and tourists alike. Whilst the majority of the zoo is outside, there’s plenty to do indoors so even if its raining you’ll have a great time!
The Zoo is the highlight with almost 100 different types of animal to see. Everyone loves the meerkats, but you can also enjoy lions, penguins, rhino, giraffes, red pandas and many more. Most of the enclosures are spacious and the majority of the grounds are accessed via tarmac paths.
The Barn is full of farm animals such as donkeys, chickens, sheep and goats and as the name suggests, is fully undercover. Also accessed via the Barn is a land train which allows for viewing of other animals away from the main Zoo area.
One of the coolest things about Folly Farm is the collection of vintage fairground rides, sideshows and coin machines! Most of these are inside a huge shed that also includes a large adventure playground, softplay, food stalls and a theatre which puts on short daily shows.
Outdoors you’ll find various adventure playgrounds, additional fairground rides, diggers, go-karts and picnic tables.
